Welcome to Smiths And Connors family website. By creating an account or using this platform, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the site.

1. Overview

Smiths and Connors is a social networking platform designed to help family members and their close friends connect with other family members from the Smiths and Connors family tree.

These Terms apply to all users of the site. Smiths and Connors is operated in British Columbia, Canada and governed by the laws of British Columbia.

2. Eligibility

To use Smiths and Connors, you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older, unless your parent gives permission and lets the moderator know he/she invited you with their blessing

  • be a friend who is invited by a family member, friends will not be allowed to sign up on their own without an invite

  • create an account with accurate information and

  • comply with all applicable laws in your region.

Users outside Canada access the platform at their own initiative and are responsible for following local laws where applicable.

3. Nature of the Platform

Smiths and Connors provides a way for family members to:

  • have discussions with other family members/friends

  • share information

  • plan trips

  • create photo albums and upload photos

Smiths and Connors does not:

  • vet, screen or perform background checks on any family member or accepted friends

  • guarantee accurate or safe advice posted by other family members and/or accepted friends

All interactions - online or offline - are entirely at your own risk.

4. Location Sharing

You may choose to share:

  • personal details

  • regions or areas you live in

You are responsible for any information you choose to make public. Smiths and Connors is not responsible for consequences arising from sharing your personal details or location.

5. User Conduct

Users must not:

  • harass, threaten, stalk or intimidate others

  • post inappropriate, dangerous or illegal content

  • spread misinformation or unsafe advice

  • impersonate other individuals

  • spam members with links, sales pitches or off-topic promotions

  • collect data from other users without consent

Smiths and Connors reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts at its discretion.

6. User-Generated Content

Users retain ownership of their posts, images and profile content.
By posting on Smiths and Connors, you grant a non-exclusive license for the platform to display this content.

Smiths and Connors may remove content that:

  • violates these Terms

  • poses safety risks

  • is abusive or offensive

  • infringes on intellectual property rights

7. Account Suspension & Termination

Smiths and Connors may suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • safety concerns

  • harassment or misconduct

  • repeated rule violations

  • fraudulent activity

  • misuse of the platform

8. Merchandise & Commerce

If Smiths and Connors offers merchandise in the future:

  • separate terms may apply

  • all sales, shipping and returns information will be posted at that time

9. Advertising & Third-Party Links

Smiths and Connors currently does not allow advertising or third party links designed to allow the poster to earn revenue. Only third party links for reference or added information will be allowed. These may include links to products/services that the poster does not gain monetaryily from. ie: where did you get that toaster oven? I got it here: "link"

10. Limitation of Liability

Smiths and Connors, its administrators and contributors are not liable for:

  • injury or harm occurring during meetups or camping trips

  • inaccurate user information

  • actions taken by other members

  • data loss

  • site outages

  • user-generated content

You agree to use this platform at your own risk.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
Any disputes must be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
